Adam Lambert will return to American Idol on Thursday. He will be performing and a remixed version of his new song Aftermath. The Idol alum will be performing in support of The Trevor Project which he will be donating a portion of the proceeds to. He has announced that the revamped single will only be available through his website.

“Adam Lambert sold out as fast as the ticketing system would allow,” said Ric Waldman, the center’s director of programming and audience development. “Because people were slamming the website, everything slowed down, so it took about 90 minutes to catch up and sell out. We probably would have sold out in minutes if we had (more expansive Web services). We are in the process of updating the system to better handle these huge-demand sales when literally thousands of people are trying to buy tickets at one time.

“We could have probably sold three more shows for Adam Lambert if we had been able to (book) them,” Waldman said of the flamboyant showman, who also sold out a 2010 Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom show in three minutes.

First of all, just being a Top 10 finalist on American Idol guarantees income from union contract appearance fees that bring in $1,000 to $2,000 a week. That's because the competition tunes they sing on the show are picked up by iTunes and the songs they sing in the opening number on the results show are covered by AFTRA rules.

In addition, the Top 10 go out on a national tour that is steadily increasing in revenue and last year Randy Jackson revealed the number is up to about $250,000 - each.

Winning American Idol guarantees a million dollar recording contract when endorsements and advances are figured in. Record sales above that bring in even more cash.

But Adam Lambert didn't win American Idol.

No worries. According to The New York Times, "the winner is not the only contestant who earns after the show. Last year the runner-up — Adam Lambert, whose first-week album sales were more than double those of Kris Allen — earned $300,000 in advance royalties for his first album, a $75,000 merchandising contract and $50,000 in fees from Disney World for the Idol Experience attraction."

OK... so far that's $425K, PLUS the estimated $250K for the tour... that means that by being the runner up on Idol Adam Lambert earned an estimated $675,000 bucks!

This past year since AI ended Adam has enjoyed spectacular record sales and he has launched his first "GlamNation" tour that's been steadily adding dates and causing other tracks on the album to pick up steam and add to his revenue stream.

So what's the total?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the current estimate of Adam's wealth is... $5 Million Bucks!

Adam Lambert tour announced- 'The Glam Nation Tour'

Brace yourselves, Adam Lambert fans: the former American Idol finalist has announced that his first North American tour will be called 'Glam Nation'. The opening acts for the show with be Orianthi, and Allison Iraheta.

Lambert took to Twitter to make the announcement. He writes: "The Glam Nation Tour dates will be announced soon! For those who didn't know, my opening acts are Orianthi and Allison Iraheta!!!"

Adam Lambert told Ryan Seacrest in an interview after his performance on American Idol: "I am working on it right now. I am actually about to leave on Sunday for three weeks to go over to the U.K. I go over there. My album is coming out, I'm so excited to do some TV shows and promo out there. All over Europe, it has been a really good response. Then I come back, and right away I start rehearsals for my first North American tour. " Lambert says of his idea for the shows: "I want it to be atmospheric. I want it to feel like you are somewhere else. I want it to transport people. I can tell you right now that it is going to be called Glam Nation. And it is going to be very glittery and sparkly, but it is going to have that mystery and the mood and the sexy and the celebration. I think the fans are going to be in for a real treat."

Big week for Jason Castro and Adam Lambert

This week proves that you don’t have to win American Idol to strike it rich. Two former finalists, Jason Castro and Adam Lambert are shaking things up this week and making headlines in a really big way.
